I like wrapping things up! Follow these simple steps to wrap the perfect gift.
Before you begin, gather your supplies: wrapping paper, scissors and tape. Note that most gifts are easier to wrap inside a box.
- On a flat, clear surface such as a counter, table or floor, unroll some of the wrapping paper, printed side down.
- Starting with the gift on the edge of the paper, roll the box over the paper counting “1-2”. In other words you need enough paper to cover 2 sides of the box. Cut here on this line.
- Now start with the gift on the edge of the paper the other way so that you can determine how much paper you will need to cover the entire present. Roll the box over the paper counting “1-2-3-4”. In other words you need enough paper to cover 4 sides of the box. Cut here on this line.
- Place the box in the center of the paper and bring the paper edge for the longer side up and halfway across the top of the box. Attach with tape if needed.
- Bring the other side up so that it overlaps with the first (possibly taped) edge and pull the paper tightly around the box then affix with tape.
- Fold the paper in on each side of the gift. To do this, fold between the top and bottom flaps so you end up with just the top and bottom (sides are now folded in).
- Fold the bottom paper up against the box and attach with tape. Then repeat folding the top side down and affix.
- Add ribbon, a bow or a decorative gift tag to the present to give it a festive touch!
